I signed up for a tai chi class. Then this happened.

So, I signed up for a tai chi class at the Sea Isle City library.

That’s where I met Cheryl Crews, a terrific teacher and awesome person.

Cheryl introduced me to her student and friend Teri Hislop, another outstanding person who also plays a mean classical flute.

Teri needed a jazz bass player for a recital she was planning, so I introduced her to my first-born, Gordon, a most excellent person – and a superb bass player.

Then Sergei enters the picture. A talented composer, to be sure. Not sure what kind of person he was, as I never met him. On a whim, I asked Teri if she might want to play his Vocalise together, some day. Without hesitating, she said, “Let’s play it at the recital.”

And that’s how that happened.
